Taio Cruz is one of the defining pop voices of the early 2010s. The London singer, songwriter and producer landed a number 1 hit in Great Britain and the USA in 2009 with “Break Your Heart”; in the Billboard Hot 100, the single jumped from number 53 directly to the top. In 2010, “Dynamite” followed: No. 1 in Great Britain, No. 2 in the USA and in 2011 at the Billboard Music Awards, it was awarded Top Hot 100 Song, among other things.
With “Higher” (2010) and “Hangover” (2011, feat. Flo Rida), which reached gold in Germany, he extended his success. In 2010 he received the American Music Award as Breakthrough Artist, and in 2012 he sang “Dynamite” at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in London. As a songwriter, he wrote “Your Game” for Will Young, which won a BRIT Award.
