Anyone who hears the term “Atzen” knows immediately today that it will be colorful and loud and that it is guaranteed to escalate absolutely. Even though the original meaning actually comes from the old Berlin for “big brother”, the two Berlin rappers and producers Frauenarzt and Manny Marc have given this word a new meaning. Die Atzen got their first big attention when a video clip of Frauenarzt was shown in the hip-hop show “MTV Urban” in 2007. The video for the song “Brennt den Club ab” was immediately able to take number 1 of the “TRL Most Wanted”. Their debut album “Atzen Musik Vol.1” was released and made it into the charts. The first brutal single hit of the two was “Das geht ab” in 2009. The song conquered the discos of Palma. Frauenarzt and Manny Marc therefore travelled to the Riu Palace every Sunday to perform “Das geht ab!” live. The song spread like wildfire and became the summer hit of 2009 – it climbed to number 8 in the charts. At the beginning of 2010, the next single “Disco Pogo” was released and proved that the guys are not a flash in the pan. The party hit slammed down to number 2 in the charts and went platinum. Only a short time later, the album “Atzen Musik Vol. 2” was released and reached number 5 in the German album charts and top 10 in Austria. Other chart hits followed, such as “Atzin”, “Rock die Scheiß fett” or “Strobo Pop” – together with Nena. For this, it went gold again. Anyone who thought it would be quiet around the Atzen at some point was seriously mistaken. With “Ballern” a real, typical Atzen board was once again launched, which led the clubs to demolition. Solo projects and collaborations with acts like Knossi followed. These connections were more than fruitful and produced hits like “Alge” or “Katsching”. The Atzen have now achieved cult status and are absolute megapark kings. They tear down everything that is called party and are permanently sold out. With their reinterpretation of “Disco Pogo”, they have landed the next success together with Kaufland. And you can look forward to a brand new song again!
