10cc are one of the most imaginative bands Britain produced in the seventies. Founded in 1972 in Stockport near Manchester by Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, they combined catchy pop melodies with studio tinkering, wit and a feeling for the perfect chorus.
After “Donna” (1972), they landed their first number 1 hit in Great Britain in 1973 with “Rubber Bullets”. This was followed in 1975 by “I’m Not in Love”, whose floating choir of hundreds of superimposed voices is still considered a milestone in studio technology today. With “Art for Art’s Sake”, “The Things We Do for Love” and “Dreadlock Holiday” (1978), 10cc wrote other classics that are not missing from any radio programme.
Graham Gouldman was already a sought-after songwriter before 10cc: “For Your Love” for the Yardbirds, “Bus Stop” for the Hollies and “No Milk Today” for Herman’s Hermits were penned by him. Today he leads 10cc as bassist and singer and tours worldwide with his band.
Live, 10cc offer a concert full of hits and musical sophistication: polyphonic singing, precisely played arrangements and songs that make entire halls sing along. Ideal for concert halls, festivals and events with an audience that appreciates handmade pop music.
