He is an exceptional artist with an impressive success story.
Kay One has already received the attention of more than 350 million views with its most successful titles on YouTube.
It started at the age of 17, when he got his first record deal with “Royal Bunker” together with rapper Jaysus. Together they called themselves Chablife.
But the duo separated and so Kay One signed with Bushido’s label “ersguterjunge” in 2007.
He first became known through guest contributions to albums by other hip-hop musicians and through songs that he offered free of charge on the Internet.
Together with Bushido and Chakuza, he released the single “Alles Gute kommt von unten” and landed in the charts for the first time in Germany and Austria.
This was followed by a supporting role in Bushido’s film “Zeiten ändern dich” and a track on the soundtrack of “Horst Schlämmer – Isch kandidiere”.
In 2009, he won a Juice Award in the “Newcomer” category.
To date, every Kay One album has placed in the top 10 of the German charts.
It started in 2010 with “Kenneth allein zu Haus” at number 7 and in 2012 the “Prince of Belvedair” at number 4. The sensation came just one year later, when he displaced Helene Fischer from number 1 with the album “Rich Kids” and received a gold record.
The albums “J.G.U.D.Z.S.”, “Der Junge von damals” and “Makers going to make” also all landed in the top 5 of the charts.
As a juror alongside Dieter Bohlen, he started his television presence on RTL in 2014 on “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. This was followed by his own TV shows such as “Prinzessin gesucht” or “Sängerin gesucht”, which were broadcast on RTL2
In 2017, two of his hits were awarded precious metal. First, his Modern Talking remake “Louis, Louis” went platinum and immediately afterwards the summer hit “Senorita” went gold. The latter topped the German single charts for three weeks and stayed in the charts for 44 weeks.
The accompanying video collected more than 10 million Youtube views in the first 8 days alone!
“Louis Louis” & “Senorita” reached over 100 million views on YouTube within the first 6 months.
More hits followed, such as “Bentley”, “Portofino” or “Bachata” as well as two joint tracks with Mike Singer: “Netflix & Chill” and “Du geht nicht aus meinem Kopf”. The next hits are already in the starting blocks.
Kay One not only writes his own lyrics, but also produces and writes lyrics for other acts.
His versatility is his strength – he skillfully combines a wide variety of genres and has already worked with stars and greats such as US rapper DMX, Xavier Naidoo, Dieter Bohlen, Farid Bang, Mario Winans and Pietro Lombardi.
His club shows and concerts are all sold out and with over 100 gigs a year, he is one of the most booked rappers in Germany.
