The Swedish party troupe Rednex landed their first No. 1 hit in 1995 with “Cotton-Eye Joe”, which was No. 1 in Germany for a whole 10 weeks. In Germany alone, they sold over 1.7 million singles. Follow-up hits were “Old Pop in an Oak” and “Wish You Were Here”.
After a break of almost six years, Rednex were successful again.
“The Spirit of the Hawk” received triple gold in Germany. Platinum in Austria, gold in Sweden and Switzerland. The text contains the spoken lines “My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no shelter, no food. No one knows where they are. Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad. I will fight no more “, an excerpt from the famous speech of Chief Joseph.
In 2010, “The Spirit of the Hawk” was ranked as the ninth most successful German hit of the decade 2000.
The typical mix of Eurodance and country elements still creates a great atmosphere at every party and so we are all the more pleased that the Rednex are back on tour and will also be an absolute highlight at your event!
