Culture Beat’s success story begins with their biggest hit: “Mr. Vain”. The Eurodance number is one of the absolute classics of this music era and received 5 x gold worldwide for over 4.5 million singles sold, in Australia and Sweden it was even platinum.
The song went to number 1 in 13 countries in 1993 and is still played at every 90s event today.
This was followed by the album “Serenity”, which also reached the top 10 in many countries and was awarded gold several times.
After such a mega-hit as “Mr.Vain” you have to step up your game in order not to be labeled as a one-hit wonder. And Culture Beat succeeded, because the singles “Got to get it” and “Anything” also reached the top 5 of the charts and were awarded a lot of precious metal.
Culture Beat established itself as an integral part of the Eurodance scene and was part of the line-up of all major music events.
With “Inside out”, the first single from the album of the same name landed in the Top 5 again in 1995 and went gold. Hits such as “Crying in the rain”, “Take me away” and “Walk the same line” also became radio and club hits.
There was a hail of awards, such as multiple RSH gold and the Echo in the pop category.
After the album “Inside out”, singer Tanja Evans decided to leave Culture Beat and handed over the baton to successor Kim Sanders, who gave voice to the Culture Beat hits “Pay no mind”, “You belong” and “Rendes-Vouz”.
The songs also all landed in the charts and were played up and down, especially on the radio stations
The album “Metamorphosis” also became a chart breaker in 1998 and continued the impressive success story of Culture Beat.
After a creative break, Culture Beat made a brilliant comeback in 2003 with the new singer Jacky Sangster, who entered the top 10 worldwide with “Mr. Vain Recall”.
She has come to stay and is still the voice and face of Culture Beat.
Bring the real spirit of the 90s to your event now and book Culture Beat live!
