As one of the most successful Eurodance projects in music history, Olaf Jeglitza can now look back on 28 years of success as the mastermind of Real McCoy.
Real McCoy’s first single entered the German Top 20 in 1989. It was the rap version of the party track “Pump up the jam”. From then on, the curve pointed steeply upwards, as the next single “It’s on you” reached number 1 in 12 countries and sold over 2 million copies.
After Real McCoy signed their worldwide major deal in 1993, the success story continued with “Another night” – still one of the most celebrated Eurodance titles today. Other hits followed: “Runaway”, “Love & Devotion”, “One more time”, “Come & Get your love” and many more
But not only Europe – the USA was also conquered, followed by Asia, Australia and South America. No wonder that awards were hailing: The World Music Award, Billboard Music Award, VIVA Comet, Echo and numerous gold and platinum awards went into Real McCoy’s possession.
A total of over 20 million records have been sold to date and Real McCoy still belong to the elite of the 90s.
