Michael Patrick Kelly, born in Dublin in 1977, was already on stage as a child with the Kelly Family, one of the most successful bands in Europe. After his solo album “In Exile” (2003), he lived as a monk in France for several years before returning to music in 2011. He made a comeback with “Human” (2015, number 3, gold), “iD” (2017) rose to number 2 in the German album charts and went platinum.
Songs like “Shake Away”, “Golden Age”, “iD” and “Beautiful Madness” (2020, platinum in Austria and Switzerland) made him a permanent fixture on the radio. “B.O.A.T.S” (2021) also reached number 2 in Germany, and his album “Traces” (2025) rose to number 1 in Germany and Switzerland. He is known to a wide TV audience as a participant and later host of “Sing meinen Song” as well as a coach on “The Voice of Germany”, where he won in 2018 with Samuel Rösch.
