Go West are Peter Cox and Richard Drummie: two friends from London who decided to write songs together in 1982. Cox brings the distinctive, soulful voice, Drummie guitar, keyboards and an eye for the big pop melody.
The breakthrough came in 1985 with “We Close Our Eyes”, which climbed to number 5 in the UK. This was followed by “Call Me”, “Goodbye Girl” and “Don’t Look Down”, the debut album sold around 1.5 million copies worldwide. In 1986, Go West were awarded the BRIT Award for Best British Newcomer.
In 1990, “King of Wishful Thinking” opened the film “Pretty Woman” and brought the duo into the top ten in the USA. In 1992, they followed up with another international hit with “Faithful”. Since then, Go West have never completely disappeared from the stage: tours through Great Britain and Australia, the album “3D” (2013) and regular appearances at the big eighties festivals.
Live Cox and Drummie are on stage with a permanent band and play their hits as fresh as they were back then. An act for all those who are looking for eighties pop with a real voice and a lot of feeling, from festivals to galas.
