When his voice sounds out of the speakers, you automatically take a stance. As soon as the beat starts after the call “Forward, March”, you can celebrate unrestrainedly.
We’re talking, of course, about the party act Captain Jack, who brought the clubs and festivals to a boil in the 90s with his military dance, a large portion of humor and lots of sex appeal.
In 1995, the party started for the company with the dance banger “Captain Jack” and was also the starting signal for one of the most successful Eurodance acts.
The song climbed to number 3 in the charts and was certified platinum.
The follow-up single “Drill Instructor” also entered the top 5 of the charts and was able to secure a gold record.
With “Soldier, Soldier” followed a somewhat more relaxed reggae number, which also reached top chart positions and was celebrated by the fans.
Of course, an album was not long in coming and so the debut “The Mission” was released in 1996, which secured gold for over 500,000 copies sold.
In the spring of 1997, the band released their second album “Operation Dance”, which contains the hits “Together and Forever” and “Holiday”.
On album No.3, “The Captains Revenge”, which was released in 1999, there is also the chart single “Get up”, with which Captain Jack appeared on the Saturday evening giant “Wetten dass…?”.
Further hits followed with “Iko Iko”, “Don ́t you just know it” and “Give it up”, which continued Captain Jack’s good mood feeling.
Unfortunately, frontman Franky Gee tragically passed away in 2004. But in order to keep the hits and spirit of Captain Jack alive, they decided to start again 4 years later.
With Bruce Lacy, a worthy successor has been found, who continues to navigate Captain Jack from party to party in the 2000s.
With the singles “People Like To Party” or “In The Army Now 2017”, the project once again celebrated great success and collected over six million clicks on YouTube in just under two years.
Today, Captain Jack is still one of the very hot acts of the 90s and transports the good mood of Eurodance to festivals and clubs all over the world.
