Atomic Kitten, the legendary British pop girl group from Liverpool, was founded in 1998 by Andy McCluskey and Stuart Kershaw. With an impressive track record of over ten million records sold, the band is undoubtedly one of the global greats of the 21st century.
Not only did Atomic Kitten win numerous awards, including four BRIT Award nominations and two MTV Europe Music Awards, but it also conquered the UK singles charts with three number one hits: “Whole Again,” rated as the fourth-best girl group single of all time, “Eternal Flame,” a compelling cover of the Bangles’ 1989 hit, and “The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling),” also a cover of the Paragons’ 1967 hit. Their influence spanned Europe, German-speaking countries, Asia, Oceania, and South Africa with numerous top ten hits.
After brief reunions for charity projects in 2005, 2006 and 2008, a crucial reunion finally took place when the band appeared in the 2013 documentary “The Big Reunion” on British broadcaster ITV2.
