Lutricia McNeal grew up in Oklahoma City in the USA. She comes from a large family and is the seventh of nine children. Her first contact with music was her singing in a gospel choir. Fascinated by stars such as Tina Turner or James Brown, the dream of her own music career grew in her.
In 1989, she came to Europe with a school friend. She didn’t have any big plans for what to do, but felt that something big was going to happen. She took every opportunity to show off her singing skills.
After some time in Germany, she traveled to Sweden on vacation. The vacation became a permanent residence, because she became the lead singer of the Rob’n’Raz DLC project.
With this project, she landed a few hits in Sweden before recording her first solo album “My side of town” in 1996. The very first single “Ain’t that just the way” stayed at number 1 in Sweden for a long time. It didn’t take long for the song to be released throughout Europe and reach the top 5 everywhere.
The follow-up single “My side of town” was just as successful. Other radio and chart hits followed, such as “Stranded”, “Someone loves you honey” and “Promise me” as well as the albums “Watcha Been Doing” and “Soulsister Ambassador”.
Lutricia McNeal is one of the most successful singers of the 90s and brings the feeling of this decade to the stage with her impressive soul voice and her grandiose chart hits!
