Groove Coverage consists of the German singer Mell and DJ Novus. In 2001, the duo achieved their worldwide breakthrough. Their debut single “Are you ready” reached the top ten of the German DJ charts in a very short time. The two have already celebrated 15 hits in the top 30 charts in Germany and Austria. With over five million records sold worldwide, Groove Coverage are now one of the most successful dance artists in Germany.

The final breakthrough came with a cover version of the Mike Oldfield classic “Moonlight Shadow”. In July 2002, they reached third place in the Media Control Charts. This was followed by the dance hit “God is a Girl”, which reached number 8 in the German charts, the top 10 in the Polish charts, and first place in the Chinese charts. In the same year, Groove Coverage were nominated for the Echo. They were also awarded the gold record for over 250,000 records sold. At the end of 2002, the band released their first album CoverGirl, which landed at number 39 in Germany and number 43 in Austria. The album also made it into the official charts in Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Australia. Three years later, Groove Coverage achieved Asian platinum status with their album “7 Years and 50 Days”. Another nomination at the ECHO followed.

In September 2010, the band started a comeback after almost three years. Already in October 2010, the new single “Innocent” was released by Sony Music Entertainment. This is a cover by Mike Oldfield (like “Moonlight Shadow”) and Anita Hegerland. The single entered the German DJ Charts at number three and could be found in the Media Control Charts at number 38. Another single, “Angeline”, a cover of Lotosblume, with which “Die Flippers” already landed a hit in the 1980s, was released in April 2011. The song achieved high placements in various DJ, club and dance charts, as well as number 1 in the Musicload single charts.

In January 2014, Groove Coverage took off again with the new single “Tell Me”. This is a cover of the song “Always on My Mind” by Brenda Lee, which was made popular by the versions of Elvis Presley and the Pet Shop Boys. Groove Coverage is a true hit machine and turns every event into a dancefloor.
