“We Are Family” is more than a song – it’s an anthem. And when Sister Sledge sing them live, the whole hall hugs each other.

In 1979, the sisters from Philadelphia recorded an album with Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic that made disco history. “He’s the Greatest Dancer”, “Lost in Music”, “Thinking of You” and the British number one hit “Frankie” in 1985 followed. “We Are Family” became the anthem of sports teams, movements and family celebrations and is archived in the Library of Congress as a culturally significant sound document.

Live, the full chic sound comes on stage: dry bass, rhythm guitar, strings and that unmistakable polyphonic singing that only sisters can do.
