Nana came to Germany when he was 10. In the early 90s, he started working as a DJ. He also produced and rapped under the alias MC Africa True.
In 1995 he joined the Eurodance project “Darkness” as a rapper, which was produced by Bülent Aris. Their song “Dreams” became a club hit but Nana didn’t really feel comfortable with the style of “Darkness”. The time was ripe for Nana as a solo artist and the starting signal for a mega career was given in 1996. That’s when Nana landed his first huge hit “Darmkan” and shot straight into the top 10 of the German charts.
The follow-up hit “Lonely” became the most successful Euro rap single of all time and stayed at number 1 for many weeks. This was followed by the hit album “Nana” as well as many other hits, such as “Too much heaven” or “Remember the time”. Now Nana is back at the start with old and new hits and provides an absolute party feeling of the 90s everywhere.
