Howard Jones is a household name for anyone who grew up in the 80s and 90s. Worldwide hits such as “Things Can Only Get Better”, “No One Is To Blame”, “What is Love?” and “New Song” are integral parts of pop culture. In total, Howard Jones has 15 international Top 40 hits to date.
One of the early highlights of the synthesizer pioneer’s career is definitely his performance at the 1985 Live Aid spectacle at Wembley Stadium. His piano version of the hit “Hide And Seek” was seen by 1.9 billion people.
His influence on newer generations of musicians is also noteworthy. In 2013, French house musician Cedric Gervais produced a new version of “Things Can Only Get Better” with Jones as lead vocalist, which spent 14 weeks in the Top 40 of the Billboard Dance Charts. Eric Prydz, remixed “Things Can Only Get Better” and released the song under the title “And Do You Feel Scared” on the video game FIFA World Cup in 2006.
