Belinda Carlisle is the voice behind some of the greatest pop anthems of the eighties. Born in Hollywood in 1958, she became known as the singer of the go-go’s in the late seventies. With “Beauty and the Beat”, the band landed at number one in the US album charts in 1981, “We Got the Beat”, “Our Lips Are Sealed” and “Vacation” became New Wave classics.
She started her solo career in 1985, and “Mad About You” brought her first big success in 1986. This was followed in 1987 by “Heaven Is a Place on Earth”, a number 1 hit in the USA and Great Britain. This was followed by “I Get Weak” and “Circle in the Sand” (both 1988), “Leave a Light On” (1989) with George Harrison on slide guitar and “We Want the Same Thing” (1990).
Later, she showed other sides: French chansons on “Voila” (2007), mantras on “Wilder Shores” (2017) and in 2023 the EP “Kismet” with songs by Diane Warren. In 2021, the Go-Go’s were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In August 2025, their album “Once Upon a Time in California” was released with songs that shaped them in their youth in California.
Live, Belinda Carlisle is pure eighties euphoria: a voice that still shines and a program full of hits where every chorus hits right away. Ideal for festivals, retro events and big evenings with an audience that wants to sing along.
