The Swedish pop project Alcazar stands for glamorous disco sound and achieved their breakthrough throughout Europe after their first hit “Shine on” in Sweden (1999) in 2001 with the single “Crying at the Discoteque”. The debut album “Casino” was also able to chart throughout Europe and pave the way for the Swedish disco sound.
This was followed by the singles “Sexual Guarantee” and “Don’t you want me”, which also brought the dance floors of Europe to a boil.
The combo around singer Andreas Lundstedt was also able to enter the charts with the second album “Alcazarized”
catapult.
In the fall of 2004, they reached the German singles charts again with their single This Is the World We Live, a mashup that mixes samples of the number one hit Upside Down by Diana Ross from 1980 and the chorus of the Genesis hit Land of Confusion from 1986.
In 2003 and 2005, Alcazar took part in the Swedish preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest. They took second place with Not a Sinner, Nor a Saint (2003) and third place with Alcastar (2005).
20 years after their first single, Andreas Lundstedt is now back on stage with the hits of Alcazar and brings the disco spirit of the 2000s to your event!
