Level 42 are one of the most influential British bands of the 80s. Founded in 1979 on the Isle of Wight, they combined funk, jazz and pop to create their own sound – carried by Mark King’s slap bass, one of the most famous signatures of pop music.
With “Something About You”, “Lessons in Love” and “Running in the Family”, the band landed a series of international hits and sold over 30 million records. Their albums regularly reached the top ten in Great Britain, and in Germany their singles are still part of the fixed repertoire of every 80s format.
